Yes, please. I'm fine, thank you.
If you ask any African that doesn't speak English very well..."How are you?" They respond with "Fine, thank you" (if their accent of course) Then proceed with.."How old are you?" they respond with "Yes, please". Or...any time you call their name.."Yes, please". very cute. Glad I got two minutes to get on here and do an update again. Each day here is more and more facinating then the next. We spent about two days in Gulu, Uganda spending time with special people and shady hotels ;) The stories I heard and things I saw were remarkable. A boy named Simon, began his story with "Praise God", he told of his story of his parents being killed in the war (by the Rebels) and he was taken captive to be a child solider at age of 11. He was trained in the bushes of Gulu for 7 months and was forced to have sex with a 60 year old woman. He is now rescued and slowing healing from this tramua at the Education training school. Praise God. no, Praise God! This school is taking in about 150 students affected by the war, usually between the ages of 17-25ish to train them in sowing, beautican, welding, etc. so that they will know how to have a better life and get a job. Most of the people there are infected with HIV, not all of them have done this to themselves. Women were raped in the war, some were infected by their husbands not knowing they had it. None the less, these people...some only 19 with 4 children, are living to die, and die young. This school though is offering a chance for them to have a purpose and a life, to learn and receive healing. Believe it or not, these same 150 people, brought smiles to our faces as they welcomed us and sang, danced and gave praise to God. Nothing like i have ever experienced in my life. To them we are heros, to us, they are the heros. I dont know if I mentioned but we are parterned with this trip with an organization called World Help. World Help is what is making all this possible for us to visit these places, bring food, give out books and supplies to the children, and most importantly, share the gospel. Each place we have visited is being taken care of by a believer in Christ is unselfishly serving others with every bit of themselves. These people are heros. They are providing a roof and bed for those without, a father and mother for those who had lost, and a chance to know that even though times are tough, that God loves them just the same. God has called each one of us to "take care of orphans and widows" and oh my gosh..are there A LOT! Are we each fulling that command? Are we taking care of these children that are so precious to Him? Well, Catherine is doing just that. Catherine is a girl that we meet today that is running a house full of 66 orphans. She is 21. She didn't want to see these children who lost their parents to Aids left on their own. She is unselfishly serving these children day in, and day out. She told us her story today, and in tears..is very concerned on what's going to happen in August. In August the owner of thehouse is kicking them out and they have no place to go. Would you please pray for Catherine and these 66 little children that God would provide a home? Cutest kids ever!! We were able to provide a big meal for them today, something they never get to eat and give them each a teddy bear that was bought by a woman from the states. We also got to love on them and tell them of the love of Jesus. So amazing. I am still amazed each morning as we get up and drive down the streets by what I see, hear, smell! Thank you all so much for your prayers! I can definately feel them as I am running on very high energy and very little sleep! Tomorrow is our last full day :( Very sad but looking forward to what the last day brings. Thanks so much!! :)
